maternity leave for contract worker

Does maternity leave applicable for 1 year contract (contract in recruitment firm) worker? If yes, is there any information to refer?

If she is covered by the Employment Act (salary not more than RM1500) and if she is eligible for maternity allowance, the answer is yes. Refer to Part IX of the EA at

If she is not covered by the EA, I think it would be better to state everything is clearly in the one year contract in order to avoid future disputes. Things like annual leave, sick leave, holidays, maternity leave entitlement and so on should be stated clearly.
