Hi, I would like to know whether the MC given due to your hospitalization is consider as normal MC or Hospitalization MC. Further, is all staff entitled for 60 days of hospitalization MC inregardless of our normal MC entitlement.

If you did not stay in hospital, it is normal sick leave. If you are admitted in hospital, the period in hospital is hospitalization.

Hi Cintu,

MC and hospitalization is different.

FYI, Employment Law 1955, 60F, had stated the minimum paid sick leaves entitlement in days per year. For those sick leave where no hospitalization will be entitled according to their service year, such as

(i) 14 days will entitle to employee who has been employed for less than two years;

(ii) 18 days will entitle to employee who has been employed for two years or more but less than five years;

(iii) 22 days will entitle to employee who has been employed for five years or more;

If hospitalization is necessary, employee are entitle for 60 days sick leave, they have to show out the certified by such registered medical practitioner or medical officer:
