i am a part time worker, i work 6 hour per day, is it right if they cut 1 hour of my lunch break, only pay me 5 hour?

Do you mean you worked throughout the entire 6 hours without any break at all? If so, then it looks like your boss was not fair to you.

If my wage os based on hours break, do my boss have to pay me if i insist on taking one hour break for meals?

if wages is paid by hour, then your employer will pay you on your working hour only.. your break time is your own time..

It is correct. You are paid for the hours you worked, lunch time no pay. Why should the boss pay you for going for lunch break? By the way 8am to 2pm = 6 hours and not 7 hours, and I think you know that.

siew,

this make me confuse.

By the way 8am to 2pm = 6 hours and not 7 hours, and I think you know that.

i know is 6 hours, but boss pays me 5 hours, coz of 11.00 to 12.00 lunch hour.

is it fair?

of course it's fair. I am a monthly paid worker, working 9am-6pm, i was paid for 8 hours work and it's not wrong by law.

under the emplyment act, maximum working hours excluding overtime is 48 per week.. Can you clarify whether the 48 hr is the no of hrs worked and does not include the time off for lunch?
