Annual Leave

I am given 20 days annual leave. However i was told that if i take leave on a Monday (1 day) I am actually taking 3 days because it includes the preceding Saturday and Sunday. Like wise if I take leave on a Friday (1 day) I am also taking 3 days instead of 1 because of the following Saturday and Sunday. It does not make sense can the management do that? Is Saturday and Sunday also to be taken in consideration when I apply for leave?

I think you should make a complain to Labour Dept. about this.
