Hi,

1) do we have to give notice to employess we going to retrench?

2) can we use this calculation for the laid off benefit.

salary: 2080/month

work: 5 months

2080*12/365 = rm68.68/ day

5 mos = 0.4167 year

0.4167 x (38.68x10) = RM284.10

1. Yes, you have to give written notice based on the agreed notice period.

2. Yes, you can use your calculation.

3. And also pay for prorated annual leave.
