Hi all, Calrification needed on the situation whereby this employee have served full month i.e. Date joined 16 Aug 2018. But he has been informed that he will get his salary on 20th Oct 2018. Is that permissable for employer to do that? If No, what should the employee do?Hope anyone can calrify or share experience on this matter.

That's wrong. The employee can bring the matter up with the Labour Department.

Another scenario:

Date Joined : 13 Aug

Payroll closing : 20 Aug

Salary rate/day : RM200

1) 13 - 20 Aug (6 days) : RM1200

2) 21 Aug - 20 Sept ( 23 minus 1 day Raya - 22 days) : RM4,400

Total salary due : RM1,200 + RM4,400 = RM5600

Minus salary advanced : RM1500

Therefore, RM5,600 - RM1,500 = RM4,100

Salary paid to employee on 20 Aug : RM1,300

Balance due from Company : RM2,800

Based on the above salary calculation, RM2,800 is still due from Company.

But Company will only pay the due amount in Oct payroll (20 Oct). 

Question : Can the company hold that due amount and delay the payment to Oct Salary?

What should the employee do?
