Termination Under Probation

Good day , we have a staff during probation he keep come late or mc or emergency off .. can we no confirm him ? can we terminate him with reason poor performance ?

You cannot do that straicht away. You have to give him warnings first. If there is no improvement, you can then think of sacking him.

Now he is over 3 months , our offer letter mention will extend probation if underperform ..

in this case , after 2 month he still under perform we can give him termination letter ?

His superior had verbal warning him dy.

Example for 6 months probation period.

1) Issue show cause letter - if not respond with satisfying answer

2) Issue 1st Warning letter

3) Repeat (1) until 3 warning letter

4) By end of probation period, issue letter stated he has not confirmed or been extend the probation.

*Probation period is the time needed to assess the probator. He got the chance to prove himself until end of probation period
