Termination of employee

In 2017, the company terminated an employee before his contract ended who is pretty high up rank wise - a director who is a foreigner on a fixed employment contract. However, we did not give him a reason whatsoever and there was no complains until 4 months after termination. He plans to bring an action through the civil court since the 60 days requirement to bring it in an industrial court has passed. Is the company allowed to terminate him without just cause under civil law and where the most we will be required to compensate is the indemnity payment?

You can pay a personal visit to the Industrial Relations Department and talk to the officer there to get some insights.
