Hi,

I would like to seek your advice for the problem mentioned below:

I have tendered my resignation and am required to give a period of 3 months notice as per my employment contract. And I comply with it. After the annual leaves deduction, my last day will be in mid-June. However, 3 weeks after that, due to some reasons, I need to leave by mid-May. Is there any thing that I can do so that my current employer can release me earlier? Or must I pay back 1 month salary to my current employer in order to leave earlier?

Try to talk to your employer whether he will waive the remaining notice period. If not you will have to pay back a month salary for the short notice. Even if you pay back one month salary, you are in fact not lossing as you will be getting salary from the new employer if you going to start work with him earlier.
