If I break RM1000 worth of item how many percent does my boss deduct from my salary?

subject to the agreement with your boss how much you need to compensate the item.

However, i do not suggest your boss deduct directly from your salary.

Not sure about Malaysia labour laws but in Singapore if I break the item which cost RM1000 the boss can only dedict 25% from my salary meaning I only pay RM250 for the broken item.

in Malaysia labour law, employer can deduct max 50% from your salary for "lawful deduction" . Compensate something you damaged is not an lawful deduction

If you broke certain item and needed to compensate to company, that is between you and company and not under labour law and deduction directly from salary is wrong.

and there is no rule that you only pay 25% or 50% when u damaged company property. It is subject to agreement between you and company. If company generous enough, you no need to pay anything but logically you pay full price for anything items you damaged.
