Termination of Employment

Say I have an expatriate staff who is on X-months of employment contract, Y-months of probation and 1 month of notice period (both employer and employee). I had to terminate him/her prematurely (before X-months) due to my client's intention to do cost-shaving. Would it be sufficient for me to give 1 month of notice period? Or is there any law(s) that prevent premature termination of this employment contract?

I think you better show the contract to your company lawyer and get his legal opinion.
