Hi,want to ask, what is overtime rate for employee whose basic is more than 2000?my basic is 2500,but my overtime per hour is
rm 8 for normal
rm 15 for rest/ offday
rm 20 for public holiday
is this normal rate?thanks
In the Employment Act the formula for over time are as follow:
1. OT during normal working days (salary/26/8) x 1.5 per hour.
2. OT on rest days (salary/26/8) x 2 per hour.
3. OT on holidays (salary/26/8) x 3 per hour.
You just compare whether the company's rates is enough or not. If not, try to ask for more comparable to what is the EA although you are covered by the Act.
