Ending employment

Good evening.

We have an employee (who is still on probation) who has not shown up for work for 5 days. No notice or explanation has been provided to management. We assume she is not returning. My questions are:

1. What steps should the company take in this obvious 'no-show'?

2. We have her final salary cheque with us but this has not been picked up to date. What should we do?

3. Are we obliged to pay EPF and SOCSO for her last months salary despite the fact that it has not been collected?

Thanking you in advance.

Write to the employee stating he has broken the contract of service. Also tell him the company can claim a month salary from as compensation for breaching the contract of service.  Meanwhile withhold his salary. No EPF and SOCSO as no salary was paid out.

Thank you very much for the guidance.

It is much appreciated!

Take care!
