Hi,

Is it alright to state in the contract that a worker is required to work overtime?

Thanks!

Of course! The employer has the right to organise his business to achieve optimum results. Hence the law will normally side them when it comes to the issue of annual leave approval or overtime. Imagine if every employee in the company sabotages the employers by taking annual leave or rejecting OT when he is most needed, the company's operations will come to a standstill.
