Unpaid Leave (Staff Resign)

Dear Sir,

I'm writing to enquiry about unpaid leave for one of my staff. He has unsatisfactory attendance record (unpaid leave taken without prior approval, inconsistent attendance, absenteeism without inform superior & HR) from early May until end June due to personal matter, and he tendered resignation early June & request early release until end June (should be 3 months notice). For his leave entitlement is pro-rated due to less than 1 year service and he entitled 8 days leave until June. But he had taken more than 8 days leave during his employment, so the balance after deduct all leave entitlement consider unpaid leave which we will deduct in his last salary.  We have accept his resignation & early release, but withholding his last month salary. Except to deduct his unpaid leave, any other disciplinary action we can do for his unsatisfactory attendance?

Since you have accepted his resignation and he is leaving your Company nothing much you can do against him other than to deduct his salary for the un-entitled leave.
