1. Is there a particular amount per annum that the company must give to an employee for medical claims? If so, how much?

2. How many days is maternity leave? Does it start the day she applies for leave or the day of birth?

3. In regards to contracted staff what does the company need to offer them as a basic term in the employment contract?

Hi there,

Below are the answers for your queries:

1) There are no specific amount per annum said inside the employment act itself. Most of the company will limit the amount to claim RM30 per month for medical reimbursement.

2) The eligible period for maternity leave is not less than 60 consecutive days.

3) For this case, you'll need to refer to employment act before you draft it out. Usually, there'd be medical leave, annual leave as per monthly basis, medical claim and etc.
