Hi,

All employee in our company have to serve 6 months probation period. Confirmation normally is based on employee performance and whether HOD or Manager would like to early confirm the staff or extend probation period. After 6 months, will be auto confirm the staff if HR didn't issue confirmation letter? (HR not yet receive any instruction to confirm the staff from Board of Director). HR need to issue an extension letter to the employee after the 6 months probation period? Are probation period, extension of probation period and confirmation of employee include in Employement Act? I have search through website, information show that only based on HR policy. Am I correct?

There is no provision in the Employment Act about probation period. It depends on the company's own policy.
