Deduction of unpaid leave

Hi Admin,

I seek your advise. 

One of the staff had complaint that his EPF contribution October was less the usual. When i checked in the system, he had taken unpaid leave during that month. 

Our company using MYOB Payroll. So whenever there is unpaid or deduction leave it will deducted from basic salary then after that deduct his EPF.

Please confirm which one is correct

Basic Salary - EPF contribution = Gross salary - Unpaid leave = Net Salary (he thinks this should be)

or 

Basic Salary - UPL = Gross Salary - EPF contribution = Net Salary.

Please advise.

Should be : Basic Salary - UPL = Gross Salary - EPF contribution = Net Salary.
