Employee forced to pay for customer theft

Does the employment act allow the company to deduct employee's salary to pay for customer's theft? During the recent stock check, it was discovered that something more than RM2500 has lost, most probably stolen by customer. Does labour law allow the company to deduct employee salary to compensate for the lost? The thing is I have just entered the company (one week), I am forced to pay for the lost too. Kindly advice on this matter.
