Hi All,

I have several question regarding to the topic:

  1. If a staff AWOL/MIA and he/she is still holding the company assets such as laptop. Does the employer has any right to make a salary deduction from his/her last salary? Or- Does the employer has any right to hold his/her salary until he/she return the company assets?
  2. If the employer does not has any right to deduct or holding the salary, is reporting to police the only method?
  3. Any other way to chasing back the company assets if police report is'nt the only method?

Please advise. Thank you.

Send him a AR registered letter about his absence and the company property in his possession and demand the return of the property by a certain date and also tell him the company may take action to claim compensation from him for breaching the contract of service.
