Hi there, i would like to know the following:
1) can a company set a rule that all the employee must clear their annual leave by end of the year, failing which, their leave will be forfeited (no payment for unused leave and cannot carry forward the unused leave to the following year)
2) can a company set a rule that all the employee must clear their annual leave by end of the year, subject to the condition that the employee are not allow to take more that 7 consecutive working days
Yes, the company has the right to require workers to clear their leave each year. If they failed to take, leave could be forteited. However, if the workers have plan to take longer leave for certain purposes like holidays overseas, marriage etc , the workers can always discuss with the HR before hand about it.
