Off day fall on public holiday

Hi,

I have an employee who off day at 16 September 2016, should he get his salary with double paid for 16 September 2016?

17 Sept should be a replacement holiday for you. If you worked on 17 Sept, you should get (salary/26) x 2. You could consult the Labour Department if you faced with any problem about it.

Dear KL Siew,

My company is restaurant industry. Every staff will have one day off day in a week. If the staff who off day on public holiday but no coming for work can get double paid then is it unfair for the staff who working on public holiday but also get double paid.

Then go to the Labour Department and make a complaint there.
