Termination of Employee Due To Poor Performance

Need some assistance on the matter.

An employee was to be terminated due to poor performance. He was issued three warning letters in regards to his work performance, and was given ample time and opportunity to improve his performance.

The problem is that his status was still under probation,despite the fact that he had been working with us since 14th Sept 2015 (his supervisor "forgot" about his confirmation.)


Do we have to conduct a DI before terminating his contract?

Can we terminate his contract under probation provisio (two weeks' notice) or should we give him 1 months' notice?

In my opinion, holding a DI first will be better.
