Dear Sir,

Would like to seek your advise on the below:-

1) Staff (Personal Assistant for Managing Director) - being asked to photocopy a P&C bank statement of the director and to placed a copy on the desk. The staff however, issued email to the Finance staff, to photocopy the statement and quoted in the email that the instruction is from the director.

Q: Can we charge her for insubordination, as not following the instruction given and has caused the information of the statement leak out.

2) Can we conduct a DI for her insubordination, after we found that her explanation is not acceptable?

Thanks

You may be able to get some guidance from Section 14 of the Employment Act as the type of penalties you can mete out.
