Staff refused to work long hours

Dear Sir/Madam,

We are rushing to close the account for year 2015, and all account staff are requested to work long hours until 22nd january 2016.

However, there is few staff didnt follow the instruction and went back after their normal working hours.

I understand that we cannot force the staff to work extra hours other than their normal working hours, but can we issue them show cause to explain why the went back without informing the Superior? (They quietly leave the office).

Are you paying them for working overtime? If you are paying, I think you can give them a warning.
