Unpaid Leave

My Wife is a teacher, a permanant monthly paid salaried staff wish to take unpaid leave. However, the school administation department computated the deduction of unpaid leave inclusive of Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.

My question is, has the school the right to include Pubic Holidays in the deduction of the unpaid leave?

If you wife is a Government servant, the Employment Act does not cover her.

As far as I know, when an employee is on a period of unpaid leave, all rest days, Public Holidays are included. Please seek confirmation from the Labour Department.
