Dear Sir,

Good afternoon. My name is Lucy and I have been working with a private company in Kuching, Sarawak for more than 2 years. Just recently, my company had revised their HR Policies and one of the clause that had attract my attention is regarding maternity leave. It is stated that maternity leave up to maximum period of 60 consecutive days will be granted. However, employee will receive full pay salary for the 1st 30 days but half pay for the balance 30 days.  Is it rightful for a private company to enforce this law under Sarawak Labor Law? Looking forward to your reply.

Best regards,

Lucy

No, it should be full pay for 60 days. Give a call to the Kuching Labour Department for confirmation.
