I have declined an employment offer after i signed it. The commencement date of employment is 12 October 2015 but i have declined via email on 5 October 2015.

This morning the HR sending me a notice of demand for 2 weeks compensation and threaten to go for legal action. There is no liquidated damaged mentioned in the letter of employment for failed to report to work.

Do they able to take legal action under employment act or labour law or any human resource related law under Malaysia?

Thank you.

I don't think they will really go to take action for two weeks salary as compensation. Wait and see.

Then you can go and consult a lawyer when you have got their official demand for payment.

You can try to get some free legal advice from the Legal Aids Bureau (Biro Bantuan Guaman). Show them the relevant documents like acceptance letter, HR's demand letter etc.
