Hi and good day,

An employee on extended probation a company. Extended probation was given for being absent from work without approved leave and no notification to their superior. Employee consultation  given twice in documented and signed off. The employee agreed and apologized to improve.A couple of weeks later, the same employee  was  absent again without approved leave and no notification to their superior. Please advise - is his service be terminated immediately ?

Your prompt reply's much appreciated.

Thank you

Give him a last written warning stating that he would be dismissed with immediate effect if it were to happen again. However, if you have already given such a final warning before, I think you do what you have suggested.

Hye there,When u mention the employee is on an extended period of probation, may i know when is the end date of the said extended probationary period? This is very important as a probationer can only be terminated after the end of any given probationary period except for SERIOUS MISCONDUCT such as misappropriation of money, fighting etc. It is my opinion that leave without approval is not sufficient/serious to warrant an immediate dismissal (except for other punishment) while the probationary period still on going. At the time of this email.

The probationer has been absent from work for the whole of this week with no information.
