I would like to seek your advice on behalf of employer. Our current practice is working 5 days a week and it is stated in offer letter of each employee. And my employer have change the working days to 5.5 day a week which is working additional Saturday. We have announce and inform employee by sending memo.
Now my question is, do the employee have rights to not agree on changes on workings day? The said employee does not turn up to work on the first Saturday implementation of 5.5 working days. Does this allowable? Is there any clause in Labour law saying, the employee have the right to follow the original offer letter. Does the memo sent overwrite the original offer letter?
