Company deduct the balance of annual leave

One of the staff in my office already tendered 3 months notice for resignation.  then, she get reply from the HR department stating about the acceptance of her resignation notice by the company.  But, she was asked to leave the company earlier (without any reason for that) whereby the company deduct the balance of her annual leave entitled.  She can't take any leave during the notice period.  If she apply for the emergency leave, it will be considered as unpaid leave.

My questions here are :-

(1) Can a company simply deduct the balance of annual leave without asking the staff whether she wants to leave earlier or not?i.e. was forced to resign earlier.

(2) if she apply for emergency leave, can the company deduct her salary for that emergency leave? Is it permissible by law?

Thank you.

Can't say much as I don't know what is going on. The staff concerned may have to bring the matter up with the Labour Department. She can go there personally and seek clarification.
