Dear Sir,
My working hour is 9am - 5.30pm Monday to Fridays. Salary above RM2000. My company policy is staff didn't get paid overtime for work done on Saturday.
I have to work on this coming Agong Birthday (Saturday). My question is if I work on public holiday that falls on Saturday, should the Company give me another day off?
Thank you very much.
thank you Sir for your reply.
that's mean if i work on public holiday that falls on saturday, i not get paid and no off day. work for free.
No, If you are required to work on that day, that's different. They should pay (salary/26) x 2.
my office did not pay (salary/26) x 2. therefore, i totally work for free on saturday.
i'm required to work on next coming Agong Birthday (on saturday), can i request my HR to replace my day off since they not pay me?
fyi, in my employment letter, didn't mention about 'work for free on saturday'
thank you for ur help.

Sir,
My company has different policy. We have replacement public holiday on 9th June (Mon) for the coming Agong's birthday. We work from Mon-Fri, Sat & Sun off.
1) I would like to know, if i required to work on this coming Sat, Sun& Mon. (7th - 9 th June); how to calculate the OT?
2) Usually my company pay 1.5 times for OT during Mon-Fri; 2 time for OT during Sat/Sun/Public holiday; 3 times for compulsory public holiday.
Is this consider a correct OT rate?
To me kiwa
Ask for replacement or get paid 2x
To Hong
1. Should be 1.5 for Saturday, 2x for Sunday and 3x for 9th (Since it a replaced PH)
2. It is correct.
Hi KL,
Thank you for your reply.
But should be alright if 2x for OT on Saturday right?
Another question, if I work on Monday (9th June) from 8am - 8pm, how to calculate the pay? (my normal working hour is 8am-5.45pm)
