annual leave entitlement

Hi Siew,

Please advise on below situation (examples): 

1. If I am start working on 1 Jan 2014, then 1 April 2014 I get confirmation. 

- The management told me that I could only entitled to 6 annual leave for the year 2014.(9/12   x   8 annual leaves)

Could them count the annual leave started from the confirmation period?

2. If I took 3 days annual leaves from 10 April to 12 April. How if I sick on 11 April and I got the medical cert from doctor.

In this situation, 11 April consider as annual leave or sick leave?

If you are covered by the Employment Act (meaning your salary is not more than 2k, annual leave entitlement should start from date of joining the company.

As for the day of sick leave on 11/4, if you want to use it as sick leave then produce the MC and get your HR to cancel of day of annual leave. If you don't want, don't produce the MC. Anyway, discuss with your HR if necessary.
