Refer to employment act, it is only cover to employee who earn salary less or equal to RM2000.
Any other term in the employment act which will cover to employee who earn salary more than RM2000 but less than RM5k.
For those not covered by the Employment Act are covered by the terms and conditions stated in their contract of service/appointment letter. That's why this category of employees have to see to it that all the terms and conditions are clearly stated. The EA only provides minimum benefits, the employees must also see to it all terms and conditions are not worse than those in the EA.
