May company 5-days work.

My staff absent on 4 Nov 2013 (Monday) after Depavali Public Holiday on 2 Nov 2013 (Saturday).

According to Labour law, the staff absent after Public Holiday, Company not need to pay him salary on the day of Public holiday.

May I know how to calculate the 2 days Unpaid Leave (2 Nov & 4 Nov) ?

1. Salary x 2 days / 26 day   OR  2. Salary x 2 days / 30 days ?

Up to you, there is no formula for no pay leave.

The common practice is, if you take from employee's wages (ie deduct unpaid leave etc) you have to use wage per day calculation as salary/actual number of days (30 or 31).

But if you pay to the employee's wages (ie pay OT etc) you have to use wage per day calculation as salary/26

The rule is to give advantage to the employee. Take lesser from them but give more.
