Hi,

How to calculate final salary of a staff:

Basic : RM 2,000

Unpaid Leave : 2.5 days

Resignation Letter Effective : 17th October 2013

But she wants to leave on : 31st October 2013

Need your help.. how much is the final salary? What is the formula?

If you agree to that resignation, you pay the full month salary minus 2.5 days, 2000/31 x 28.5

and what about the period of 1st Nov-16th November? because it is a one month notice (17th October - 16th November).

Hi,

Because her notice period is a 1-month notice (she tendered her 1 month notice of resignation on 17th of October 2013) it should ends on the 16th of November 2013, isnt it? but due to personal reason, she can't wait until 16th of november 2013 thus wants to leave earlier which is on the 31st of October 2013.

That's it, if you agree to let her go on 31/10, then pay up to 31/10.

Hi,

We didnt agree if she leaves on the 31st of October 2013 because she hv to serve until her last date which is on the 16th nov.

Then just tell her so. If she insists on going, she has to pay indemnity for the short notice.

Ok, thanks. means she have to pay us for the period of 1st Nov 2013 - 16th November, right? Then it would be 16 days? There are 2 public holidays which is on the 2nd Nov (Deepavali) & 5th Nov (Awal Muharram) and also 2 Sundays.. How do I count the actual total no.of days that she have to pay the company? is is 16 days or 16days - 4 days = 12 days?

please help. am confused
