Entitled to salary?

Hello and good day.

A staff of mine quitted after only a week working at our company. According to the company's law, if a staff is not yet confirmed, and the said staff wanted to resign, a week's notice is required. However this staff gave 24 hours notice of resignation.

If this is the case, should the company paid the salary for the one week that this staff have worked? Or this staff is not entiled to the salary at all due to the short notice? Many thanks

In that case, you may withhold paying his salary for the days he worked.
