Dear MyLabourLaw,

I have a question with regards to the calculation of unpaid leave.

Example;

Basic Salary: 5,000, Petrol Allowance 500 per month
(not by claim), Car Maintenance 300 per month (not by claim).

1 day unpaid leave was taken.

How will it be calculated?

Currently payroll is summing the basic salary+petrol+maintenance and divided by the days of the month.

Is this the correct manner of calculating?

There is no formula for calculating unpaid leave. It can be up to the company based on their policy or practice.
