Annual Leaves for Temporary Staff

Hi,

I would like to check, is it a MUST for an employer to give Annual Leave, Medical Leave as well as others benefits to a Temporary staff?

This temp staff is actually work for 3 months only as a stand in for a permanent staff who on her maternity leaves.

Appreciated your advice.

Since it is only a short term contract, best to have all the terms and conditions clearly stated in the contract. I think you may still be liable to provide paid medical leave, EPF, SOCSO and so on. Consult the Labour Department to make sure.
