Termination of Employment

Dear Sir,

We are the construction company and at the moment we have around 30 staffs under our emplyment. Currently,  we have one job in hand and in progress, at the same time the company facing a financial crisis.

Recently, the directors had call for a meeting to find a solution to resolve the crisis that we facing. One of the thing is to closed the redundant dept.

My question; can we issue a termination letter to the effected staff based on redundant or lay-off

First, read up the Employment(Termination and Layoff Benefits)Regulations and then call personally at the local Labour Department and get official advice as to what you should do.
