Maternity / Medical or Unpaid Leave

Dear Siew,

Would like to have your advise, if an employee going for pre natal check up (mostly once a week or at least once a month) can we deduct her unpaid leave?

She actually fully utitised her medical and annual leave. Thinking can we deduct her unpaid leave even medical certificate from government hospital provided? Is there any different if that employee cover under labour law act or not (meaning her pay below RM2000).

Any leave taken in excess of her entitlement can be treated as unpaid leave.
