Hi, would need your advice on this, hope I made myself clear. Here it is: - As the government has revised the law and employee must have a basic salary of rm 800. My question is As I'm working in an hotel, we are being paid basic + service shares. When this new regulation was announced our hotel has also done some amendments. Which is those whose basic salary is less than 500 will get to top up to rm 800 but that extra rm 300 is deducting from our service share . Therefore its just something like plus and minus and no increament. Example basic rm 500. Service share rm 600 . therefore rm 500 + rm 300 = RM 800 And thus service share will be rm 300 . Total up is rm 1, 100. Is not even an increase in salary. Does this work this way ? I feel it is a bit unfair. Thank you.

Since this is a new law, I would suggest you consult the Labour Office as to how the new law  works in your case. If your hotel has a union, also consult the union officials.
