My company employs staffs on a permanent basis. This is because such position is a must in order for the company to function properly.
Recently, some sales staffs were said to be "under performed" and the company had terminated their service with immediate effect. I don't know if they were compensated or not but that is not the issue.
The real issue is that, the company now wants to implement Contract Employment to all staffs and do away with Permanent Employment contract. According
If they implement it that will be termination of contract of service. If the employees think that the new contract is not less favourable and accept it then there will be no issue. If the new contract is less favourable, they can bring the matter up with the Labour Department or the Industrial Relations Department. For the moment just wait for someting more concrete to come up.
