Understand that there is no provision of Compassionate Leave under Employment Act, however my company do give entitlement for Compassionate Leave for the death of immediate family. However they told me Immediate Family refers to Parents, Parent-In-Law, Spouse, Children, Sister-Brother but not include Grandparents. Is that right? What is the actual definition of "Immediate Family"? My sister's company has granted 3 days special leave for such case on death of grandparent but my HR told me our company do not entitle that.

I have the death cert. but also consider Paid Annual Leave, not Compassionate Leave, anyone can clarify for me?

Well, different companies have different definition. You have to refer to your company's handbook or policy about the definition of "Immediate Family". If Grandparents is not included then you may have to take annual leave.
