 Hi,

I'm a contract staff for 1 year now on RM3000 salary. My contract will end April 2012. The contract states that employees can't terminate the contract, otherwise they will have to compensate the company 3 months' of last drawn salary. But should the company want to terminate the employee, it will give 2 weeks notice. My questions:

1. If ! want to resign before contract ends, do I have to compensate the company?

2. If yes, do I have to pay the company RM9000 or less? Just what does last drawn salary mean?

3. Do I have to give notice?

4. Can the company draw such contract? I mean, to have to compensate 3 months' salary sounds a bit zalim.

I actually regret signing the contract...*sigh*

Thanks for your help.

Consult a lawyer or get some free legal advice from Legal Aids Bureau (Biro Bantuan Guaman). Bring along that contract you signed.
