Salary Conpensation for not serving notice period in full

I have tendered my resignation on 10-Jan-11 and the company required a 1 month notice. Is my last day on 10-Feb-11 or 9-Feb-11?

Say my salary is 2500 and I will only be working till 28-Jan-11 and compensating the rest. I am on a 5-day work week of 9pm~5:30pm. How do i calculate my compensation amount? Do they include Sat/Sun or the Chinese New Year Public Holiday?

You have to pay back indemnity for 12 days from 29 Jan to 9 Feb(weekends and holidays included). Since there are weekends and holidays in between, I think it is more advantageous to serve out the full notice period, if possible.
