Policy in this company

1)      Cut off period for AL = Jan – Dec

2)      Excess of annual leave  (AL)will not deduct on that particular month, but will accumulate till December, then deduct in Dec’ salary.

Want to calculate salary for dec’ 2010

Case 1

Employee A

Salary:                          RM 1500.00

Allowance:                   RM 500.00

Excess of AL taken: 2 days

Method 1:

(1500 + 500 ) / 26 days x 2 days = RM 153.85

Gross salary = RM 1500 + 500 – 153.85 = RM 1846.15

Or

Method 2:

(1500 /26 days) x 2 days = RM 115.40

Gross salary = 1500 + 500 – 115.40 = 1884.60

Case 2

Employee A

Salary:                          RM 1500.00

Allowance:                   RM 500.00

Reimbursement for 2 days untaken annual leave

Method 1:

(1500 + 500) / 26 days x 2 days =RM 153.85

Gross salary = 1500 + 500 + 153.85 = 2153.85

Or

Method 2:

(1500 / 26 days) x 2 days = 115.40

Gross salary = 1500 + 500 + 115.40 = 2115.40

Kindly advise for case 1 and 2, which method is correct. Thank you.

Since you have the policy, just make it clearer about the method of calculation.
