About Us

This site was started by KL Siew, a retired civil servant who has been working with the Labour Department for a long time. Its main purpose is to provide information on Malaysian Labour Laws that may be useful to the general public. Through this site, both employers and employees may be able to obtain detailed information about their rights and obligations under the laws; others readers including potential foreign investors will be able to gain some insights into Malaysia's labour laws and what the labour laws will have in store for them when they come to invest in this country.

Please note that this site does not teach, you will have to read the laws yourself. Having said this, should you have any queries, feel free to post them in our forums, or contact us directly. We will be glad to share our experience with you.

This site makes quite an extensive use of electronic texts of the major labour laws for the purpose of easy reference. We have arranged the materials in such a way that they can be read in parts and by individual sections; we personally feel that it is more convenient this way, as everything is just a mouse click away. Electronic text also facilitates copy and pasting, so labour law students can use them in their course assignments.

As this site is intended to be ever evolving, your comments and suggestions are most welcome. More materials will be added from time to time.

The contents of the Acts are up-to-date and great care has been taken to ensure their accuracy. However, we will not be responsible for any loss suffered as a result of using the information provided herein.
